EXPERIENCE
2014-2020 AIGA SOUTH DAKOTA & AIGA USD- aiga is national collaborative graphic design group. as a member i trained in professional development and continued my design education outside the classroom. i participated and help host monthly design events in south dakota for research and practices. additionally there is a national convention with top graphic designers and owners of different design and marketing firms across the country for members like me to learn and collaborate with.
2016-2018 UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH DAKOTA - CREATIVE SERVICES (INTERNSHIP) - creative services functioned as a design firm specifically for usd use only. through my internship i ran designs for the university apparel shop, designed marketing prints for the ncaa division 1 sports, and got to work and collaborate with different departments across campus. in creative services i learned how to do print production including using plotter printers, laminators, foam boardings, photography light stands, and cutting boards.
2017-2023 FREELANCING - freelancing was working independent and finding clients, and marketing my services online. this was useful to understand self branding and the use of digital marketing. i worked mainly with startups businesses and designs people bought for their family members but was able to progress to government contracts. through freelancing i was able to found out rates i was comfortable using. i learned to work in various styles while also developing my personal style. additionally i was able to create a network and contact list of friends and resources to do larger projects.
